Daily Update Sept 15: East–West Pipeline Still Shut, Houthis on the Coast, Oil $107+
Daily brief — Sept 15, 2026. Same rule as always: delay first, panic never. Energy routes The Saudi East–West pipeline — the land bypass when Hormuz is ugly — is still shut after drone damage. Hormuz traffic is running thin. Brent is hanging around $107–$109. That is not a one-day spike. That is a week of expensive diesel before it shows up in groceries and fertilizer. Houthis / Red Sea Mocha and the nearby islands put Houthi positions on the Bab el-Mandeb lane — the front door to Suez. Hormuz is the other door. Two tight doors at once is how a tanker delay becomes a Costco problem three to four weeks later. What else moved NATO jets downed a drone over Lithuania. A Russian ship fired flares near a Danish helicopter in the Baltic. That is eastern-flank noise, not your Tuesday errand — but it is why insurance and reroutes stay expensive. Household list (do these, then go live your day) • Treat fuel and food as a budget line, not a surprise • Combine trips • Charge radio / power bank / lights on a set day • If you need a grab-and-go layer, Costco has ReadyWise kits marked down this week — confirm the price at the door • Two ways home. What the H@LL?
What the heck is going on with prices? This bag in the store was six dollars for three cookies a total of 2.2 ounces of product. That’s roughly only a couple of tablespoons of product for six dollars. You’d be better off putting honey on a slice of bread as a snack. #inflation #SupplyChain #foodprices #groceryhaul #groceryshopping

Monday Sitrep: Houthis Hold the Red Sea Coast, Fuel Anger & Grid Risk
Weekend global-security brief from the latest OSAC-style headlines. The item that hits trade first: after taking Mocha, Houthis are reported to control Yemen’s entire Red Sea coastline, tightening the approach to Bab al-Mandeb. That is a second chokepoint story on top of Hormuz. Freight and energy already priced that risk in — this is how it can stay expensive. Energy and infrastructure: a drone incident near the CPC terminal outside Novorossiysk briefly halted Kazakhstan oil loadings, and Astana is hunting export alternatives. Guatemala saw transport workers and Indigenous groups protest rising fuel prices. Honduras’ grid operator flagged significant risks to power continuity. Health and travel: the eastern DRC Ebola outbreak is now in a seventh province — still a regional public-health emergency, not a U.S. domestic panic item. Check CDC/WHO if you or family are moving through Central/East Africa. Also on the board: Russian strike on a shopping center in Pavlohrad (Ukraine reports 5 killed, 67 injured); EU asylum requests at a five-year low; Sweden’s election; Hong Kong vigil organizers sentenced; Anthropic says it disrupted an AI-driven election-targeting operation in Malaysia; Brazil’s court crisis; U.S. FTO list for Latin American groups now at 21; Peru joined the U.S.-led Shield of the Americas. OSAC also posted an Ecuador Country Security Report — useful if you travel that corridor. Practical takeaway: watch shipping and diesel, keep travel plans flexible, and don’t treat every overseas headline as a reason to empty a store. Prepare for the bill, not the movie. Daily Update Sept 14: Saudi Pipeline Squeeze, BRICS Summit & Houthis on the March
Daily update — Sept 14, 2026. Three stories, one household effect: fuel, freight, and time. CPC pipeline and Saudi Pipeline / Kazakh export route Saudi Arabia has had to close a 7 million barrel per day oil pipeline that runs east west across the country because of drone and missile attack coming from Iraq, likely from proxies being supported by Iran. Kazakhstan still moves most of its crude through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium to the Black Sea. That line has been interrupted again this year by attacks and loading stops near Novorossiysk. Even a short halt shows up later as tighter barrels and a diesel number you feel at the pump — not the day it happens, two to four weeks after the last tanker clears. BRICS in Delhi The bloc met while two chokepoints were under pressure. They can issue a “maximum restraint” line and still not agree on the Red Sea. That matters because China, India, Russia, and the Gulf don’t share one interest when ships can’t move. Collaboration on paper is not the same as oil moving on water. Houthis on the march Mocha and the Red Sea islands put Houthi positions in visual range of the Bab al-Mandeb lane. That is the front door to Suez. Hormuz is the other door. Pressure on either one lengthens routes, raises insurance, and delays fertilizer and fuel components after the ships already at sea drop their last cargo. What to do this week (same list as Sunday): • Budget diesel and groceries as if the next month stays expensive • Combine trips; don’t burn a tank to save four dollars • Charge lights / radio / power bank on a set day • Buy the staple you already eat if it’s on sale — not mystery food • Two ways home. Numbers on paper. Houthis at Hormuz: Suez Shipping & the Ground-Troop Question Ed
Sunday live. Not a panic brief — a shipping and force-posture talk. Houthi control on the ground matters because choke points are not abstract. If the Strait of Hormuz gets squeezed at the waterline, tankers and bulk cargo don’t just “go around.” That delay stacks onto the Red Sea / Suez problem: fewer ships, longer routes, higher insurance, higher diesel, and later empty shelves — fertilizer and food inputs included. What I walked through: • Ground-level control is different from a one-off strike. It changes who can move, when, and at what price. • Hormuz and Suez are two doors on the same house. Pressure on one shows up as cost and delay at the other. • Talk of American ground troops is a planning question, not a prediction. If that door opens, it is a long commitment with a fuel and logistics bill that hits households here, not just maps over there. • You cannot control the strait. You can control trip planning, fuel spend, bulk staples you already eat, and not putting the next three months on a card. Do this week: • Treat diesel and grocery prices as a budget item, not a surprise • Combine trips; don’t burn a tank to save $4 • Keep a written route home and a charged light / power bank • Watch shipping news, not rumor threads Watch: https://www.youtube.com/live/oeEJx5wxY-I My Books (Amazon & Kindle): • Defensive Preparedness: https://amzn.to/4a3M5jS • Breach of the Citadel (Book 1): https://amzn.to/4aq6pOe • Fall of the Citadel (Book 2): https://amzn.to/3NTDlHQ • Shadows of the Citadel (Book 3): https://amzn.to/4fii0mz • Roads of the Citadel (Book 4): https://amzn.to/46dqKEN Affiliate Links: • Readywise: https://www.dpbolvw.net/click-101244060-15859964 • Blackout Coffee (ROAMING20): https://www.blackoutcoffee.com?p=TA5t_sXhE • MIRA Safety (Roaming10): https://alnk.to/9xkeE80 • Wallaby Mylar (ROAMING5): https://wallabygoods.com/?rfsn=7151050.c9fe38e #TheRoamingPreppe #Hormuz #Suez #Houthis #SupplyChain #SundayLive #DefensivePreparedness

When the Normal Workday Stops Being Normal - A Workday Scenario
Get-home scenario with Kiki Yamaguchi from the Shadows of the Citadel series — written as a normal workday, not a movie fight. The point is simple: most problems don’t start at home. They start on the way there. Traffic, a closed road, a phone that dies, a city that suddenly feels off. Kiki’s day is the stand-in for anyone who leaves the house for a job and still has to get back. What to take from it: Know two ways home before you need them Keep the car / bag basics you actually use (water, light, charger, a printed number list) Tell someone where you are Don’t improvise from zero at 5 p.m. Fiction first. Practical second. No panic, no gear-flex. Daily update September 11, 2026: ground war begins, Oil over $100, BRICS conference, WW3?
Daily brief for September 11, 2026. Shipping and fuel are the story today — not panic, just the bill arriving. Gulf ministers are headed to Oman to talk with Iran about a temporary Hormuz shipping arrangement. That is a diplomatic opening, not a reopened strait. Until hulls actually move at normal volume, prices stay sticky. In the Red Sea, Houthis seized the port of Mocha (Mokha), pushing closer to Bab al-Mandeb. Maersk added emergency freight charges — about $1,800 per 20-ft box and $3,000 per 40-ft for upper Gulf ports, plus possible transit fees. Two chokepoints under pressure at once is how store shelves and diesel move later, not tomorrow morning. U.S. national-average diesel printed above $6/gallon for the first time (California much higher). Brent has been near/above $105; WTI near $100. The ECB hiked 25 bps to 2.5% on Middle East inflation. Energy is feeding rates, freight, and groceries. Also on the board: IAEA board referred Iran to the U.N. Security Council; Putin is in New Delhi for BRICS and energy/defense talks with Modi. Household list: combine trips, watch diesel before a long drive, buy the staples you already eat if they’re on sale, keep a cash buffer. ReadyWise buckets and basic filters/batteries are still the boring useful buys — check Costco/Amazon before you pay list.
